Education and Teaching

Professor Katunarić is a long-time member of the Croatian Sociological Association and was its president from 1983 to 1984. His dedication to teaching and mentoring shaped generations of sociology students. He opened up new fields of study and strengthened the position of sociology as a science in academic and public life. His work contributed to the spread of professionalism and ethical standards in the field of sociology.

Scientific Contributions

Professor Katunarić has 8 scientific and 3 professional books, 85 scientific articles 33 chapters in anthologies, and articles in other publications. His work covers a wide range of topics and helps to understand different aspects of society. For example, his 1996 article "'The Starry Sky': Changes and Determinism of the Upper Stratum" revolutionized the understanding of social stratification. His research "Cultural Policy of the Republic of Croatia - National Report for the Council of Europe" and "Croatia in the 21st Century - strategy of cultural development" are of particular importance for the country's cultural policy.

Professor Katunarić also made a revolutionary contribution to the development of women's studies in Croatia. His work, based on high scientific standards, opened up new areas of research and promoted women's studies as a vital part of the academic community.

International Awards

Professor Katunarić was the leader, editor, and co-author of key projects such as "Cultural Policy of the Republic of Croatia - National Report for the Council of Europe" and "Croatia in the 21st Century - strategy of cultural development." He was also the head of the project task "Office for the Development Strategy of the Republic of Croatia." His expertise and management of these projects had a significant impact on the cultural policy and development of the Republic of Croatia.
