What sets the congress apart is that it brought together a fascinating mix of voices from across various disciplines, all diving deep into the complexities of Central and Eastern Europe. The five days were packed not just with thought-provoking presentations, but also with a rich cultural program \u2013 exhibitions, film screenings, and plenty of great conversations in between. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>As part of it, I had the chance to present what I consider the most compelling parts of <strong>my PhD research on how Croatia and the Czech Republic<\/strong> responded in very different ways to the 2015 migration crisis, especially in terms of their relationship with the EU.
