Public Sociology Lives On \u2013 A Tribute to Michael Burawoy\u2019s Life and Legacy<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael Burawoy was one of a kind. His life and work inspired so many generations of students and scholars, within and beyond Sociology. The shockwaves of his legacy will certainly endure in the future. On the 1st anniversary of Michael Burawoy\u2019s passing, ESA wants to renew its commitment to the transformative Sociology he so eloquently embodied and enacted. For this online event, we invite all scholars, researchers, and students for whom Burawoy\u2019s work has left a permanent imprint that cannot vanish, especially during turbulent times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The guest speakers will engage with different aspects of Burawoy\u2019s work: the politics of production and \u201cfactory regimes\u201d; the extended case method; and Public Sociology and its impacts. Most importantly, during this webinar, each guest participant will speak about their knowledge of Michael Burawoy and his work, especially the impact he had on their life as a scholar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
