The section for qualitative research methods deals with topics such as the theoretical basis of qualitative research, methods of collecting qualitative data (interviews, focus groups, documents, visual research methods), ethnographic research, action research, case studies, narrative research, qualitative data processing and use software in this process, issues of ethics in qualitative research, the limits of qualitative research, the impact of qualitative research on public policies, etc. from all fields of sociology, as well as scientists and researchers from other fields with an interest in qualitative research methods, who have the opportunity to share their research knowledge and experience within the section. Activities in the section continue the long sociological tradition of using qualitative methods in the analysis of social phenomena, but they also seek to affirm an interdisciplinary approach to understanding social phenomena through a qualitative methodological framework.
