Abstract:
Human culture – in all its development over hundreds of thousands of years – is built on mastering how to advance on what is wanted and needed. We have to read our environment, develop a mental understanding, and then, reflexively and with speed, act. This process is our form of intelligence. Sport is one form of building, displaying, and achieving -through the fast reactive mindfulness – how to play and move toward winning and cooperatively competitive strategies. This presentation explores this movement in our cultures and its relationship/connection to digital culture and the emergence of the integration of artificial intelligence. It links this direction and comprehension of sport and digital culture to the wider areas of investigation that I have developed – celebrity, public personality systems and persona – to help identify a useful future direction of advancing on a new cooperative project that through interviews investigates the way that sport, social media and humanity construct their forms of identity (their interpersonal and public personas) in the transformed, contemporary human world.
