We are pleased to announce a Call for Papers for a forthcoming special issue of Sociologija, published by the Sociological Scientific Society of Serbia and the Institute for Sociological Research of the Faculty of Philosophy University of Belgrade. The theme of this special issue is Quantitative Analyses of Social Dynamics in Post-Pandemic Europe.
The recent pandemic has had profound and lasting effects on European societies – transforming political systems, economies, social structures, and interpersonal relationships. This special issue aims to bring together original research that explores how Europe's social world is reshaped after the pandemic as well as the overall dynamics of European societies in the present day. We invite sociologists and scholars from related disciplines (e.g., political science, economics, anthropology, public health, etc.) to submit manuscripts that address, but are not limited to, the following themes:
- Changes in democratic engagement and trust in governance
- New inequalities and shifting perceptions of social justice
- Social cohesion, solidarity, and conflict in the post-pandemic era
- Work, labor markets, and the transformation of employment
- Migration, mobility, and social inclusion
- Generalized and institutional trust
- Health and well-being
- Value orientations
- Digitalization of everyday life and its social implications
Case, cross-sectional, comparative or longitudinal research designs are all welcome. Submissions based on data from large cross-national datasets (European Social Survey, European Values Study, Comparative Study of Electoral Systems, EU SILC, Eurobarometer, Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe etc.) are especially encouraged.
Submission deadline: 15 July 2025. We encourage early submission of abstracts or expressions of interest.
Papers should be submitted through the Sociologija editorial platform and must not be under consideration elsewhere. Please follow the journal’s submission guidelines available here.
We look forward to hearing from you or your interested colleagues.
Sincerely,
