ICSOR Grant Program – Call for Applications (2026 Funding Cycle)

The International Center for the Sociology of Religion (ICSOR) invites applications for its Grant Program 2026, offering residency in Rome for researchers working on projects in the sociology of religion.

The grants support initial research into hypotheses that have not yet been fully explored, with evaluation based on:

  • novelty and innovation of hypotheses and approaches
  • direct relevance to the sociology of religion
  • scientific quality and methodological strength

Timeline:

  • Application Deadline: March 30, 2026
  • Announcement of Awards: Late April 2026
  • Earliest Start Date: May 1, 2026

Residency details: Awardees will reside in the ICSOR apartment in Rome (1 week–2 months), with access to the library. Accommodation is provided free of charge (excluding food and insurance).

Awardees are expected to provide progress reports during residency and present their findings at the end of their stay, or within one year through a report or publication.
