From 15 to 18 October 2025, the ESA RN “Youth & Generations” mid-term conference: “Youth and Young Adults in a Radically Changing World: Stagnation, Continuation, and New Beginnings” took place in Varaždin.
We were pleased to open the conference with a keynote by Geoffrey Pleyers, President of the International Sociological Association (ISA), offering a fresh perspective on youth engagement, democratic participation, and social movements. It was our honour to host Benjamin Perasović, whose second keynote offered a synthesis of four decades of youth research, with a special focus on subcultures and generational experiences in the context ofthe social changes that marked that period.
